My client is a leading engineering company and a market leader in the electric power transmission industry and an employer of choice for skilled labour. Championing design, leading edge technology, communication and engagement.
Duties include:
•Preparation and monitoring of project profit plan – obtain project budget
•Procurement Schedule creation and monitoring
•Payment applications – monthly or as agreed with the client
•Processing of any cost or variations that the client may request
•Tender Vs Construction Cost analysis
•Managing subcontractor package including giving PM assistance in appointing the sub-contractor, preparing subcontractor contract, processing payments and controlling variations.
•Controlling project costs
•Liaise with Estimating Team for official handover meeting
•Contract Negotiations, agreement of payment terms and milestones
•Liaising with the client and subcontractors (attending site meetings when required)
•Regular contact with site staff/PM for project updates and tracking project Variations
•Taking an active part in subcontractor procurement
•Supervising junior members of the team
The Commercial Officer/Quantity Surveyor will report directly to the Commercial Director on commercial performance of each project assigned.
Requirements:
•Experience within a Construction/Engineering environment preferred
•Relevant third level qualification
•Proven track record within the construction/contracting industry
•High level attention to detail with high numeracy aptitude
•Capability to support and manage growth across multiple projects/business interests
•People management skills
•Relationship management and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
•Strong interpersonal and communications skills
•High level of computer literacy
•Problem solver who embraces challenges and adapts to change easily
•Team player who demonstrates high level of initiative
